Roofs With More Than One Part
Most churches in St. Charles County weren't built all at once. A sanctuary with a steep roof might have a flat-roofed fellowship hall, office wing or classroom addition from a later decade, each with its own roof system and age. The places where those sections meet each other and the walls are where leaks usually start.
What We Do for Churches
Flat roof sections
We repair and replace flat roofs over fellowship halls, kitchens, education wings and offices with TPO, EPDM or modified bitumen. When a flat section is aging but still dry, a coating can add years for much less.
Transitions and flashing
We rebuild flashing where flat roofs meet walls, steeples, and steep roof sections, and repair parapets, coping and scuppers.
Metal roofs
Many churches, especially in the western part of the county, have metal roofs. We repair fasteners and seams, treat rust, and coat or replace metal roofs.
Clear Options for Your Committee
Roof decisions at a church usually go through a committee, so we make it easy:
- A free assessment with photos of what we found
- Written options: repair, restore, or replace, with pricing for each
- An honest recommendation and how long each option should last
- A schedule built around services and events
Planning ahead: If your roof is getting older, an assessment now gives your church time to budget or raise funds before it becomes an emergency.
Church Roofing Questions
Do you work with church building committees?
Yes. We provide written proposals with photos, scope and options that are easy to share with a committee, board or congregation. We're happy to answer questions in a meeting if that helps.
Can you work around services and events?
Yes. We schedule around worship services, weddings, funerals and other events, and keep entrances and parking areas safe while we work.
Why does our church roof leak where the flat roof meets the wall?
Transitions between flat and steep sections, and where flat roofs meet walls, are the most common leak spots on church buildings. Flashing there takes a lot of movement and water. Proper reflashing usually fixes it.
